“As a dog returns to his vomit”
It’s a disgusting site to see a dog eat its own vomit. It is just as disgusting to Christ to see us commit the same sin. There is no reasonable explanation as to why dogs will go back to their own vomit, even if there is fresh food for them. There is also no reasonable explanation as to why we go back to our “comfort” sin, or our secret sin, especially when we have so much life in Christ. We can be brought so low when sin drags us down, and it is wrong to stay in that state. We have the privilege to look up to our Creator to remove the chains of this world. Shackle yourself to Christ; the bonds are so much kinder.
