James 1:22

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

This is a verse that causes us to examine ourselves to see if our faith is really our own. Do we go beyond the Sunday morning, bible class, or occasional Christian event? Do we put in our “time” for Jesus and then live life like we want to? Our we deceived? For it is in the action that Jesus meets us. The Holy Spirit inhabits the instruction of His word. But it is actually in the doing of the life given to Christ that He meets us. It’s the difference in knowing to pray and actually entering into communication with Him. It’s knowing what our thoughts should be centered on and willingly laying our imaginations before the Lord to examine, and purify. For if we only hear, and do not do, ultimately we are useless. If we have life, and settle for the illusion of life… Well it’s not life. There is no “half” life, so it is death. May Christ live in us, and act through us.
