Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”
Words are so important because they allow people to really judge what kind of person you are by what you say. James 3 describes the tongue as something that is able to set forests on fire. To call ourselves Christians is to speak like someone that has been bought, and washed in the blood of Christ. Our words should be sweet. They should build people up, not break them down and destroy. What comes from our mouths should be consistent. Does an apple tree produce bananas? Can you get fresh water from the Atlantic Ocean? Pray for the Lord to purify your mind and heart. The outflow of a pure heart will be sweet, nourishing words, which lift and build.
